What would modern life aligned with human flourishing look like?

Meridia's mission is to use city design, tech, and governance to create a modern place to live that aligns with wise techno-optimism, maximal liberty, and human biological and social needs.

The vision is for a federated town bound together by this shared mission. We invite existing communities, families, friend groups, and individuals to become collaborators in building distinct neighborhoods.

Each of these diverse, multi-generational communities will compete and collaborate as laboratories of democracy: experiments in maximizing human flourishing.

Healthy by Default

Nontoxic building construction, barefoot walking paths, circadian rhythm aligned lighting, and local regenerative food create an environment aligned with our biological needs, making it easy to be healthy by default.

Aligned with Nature

Permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and natural waterways hydrate the land and integrate with the buildings and streets. Minimal noise, light, and air pollution, buried power lines, and architecture designed to maximize sunlight, fresh air, and movement.

High-trust Society

Neighbors you can trust with your children. Thoughtfully co-created cultural norms, and a vetting process to ensure alignment.

Live surrounded by people you can build the future with: writers, artists, technologists, construction workers, shop owners, and farmers who want to be part of building a positive future for the United States and the world. We want to show what's possible by example.

Economics-based Governance

Externality-based zoning, arbitration-based dispute resolution, Georgist land rent, and supermajority rule. A federated city with borough sub-governments to experiment with different liberty-minded governance models.

Meridia is designed as a federated town with multiple boroughs, each with their own unique character and governance experiments, unified by shared values and infrastructure.

Bring your own community to Meridia to try your ideas. Co-locating allows for varying levels of privacy and space, with access to shared amenities, contractors, funding assistance, and governance designed to maximize coordination and minimize regulatory roadblocks.
